Overview
Our commitment to delivering comprehensive communication solutions to schools, boards of developmental disabilities and local governments is deeply rooted in our Strategic Communications Model.
The model defines our collaboration with the Loudonville-Perrysville Exempted Village School District (LPEVSD). We have worked together to determine the district’s most important communication priorities and developed a plan that drives the key priorities across multiple platforms.
Through our strategic partnership, LPEVSD has witnessed improvement in its communication efforts, specifically in regard to the district’s Facebook page.
Challenge
By engaging the LPEVSD community through focus groups and surveys, the district identified improved communications as a high-priority need. The responses highlighted inconsistencies from building to building and a desire for more frequent and transparent communication from the district. As LPEVSD is a smaller, rural district, this was not an uncommon finding. Staff are focused on serving the needs of students, and priorities shift constantly because of their demanding workload. Communicating the memorable moments in the classroom often falls by the wayside.
With a new superintendent in place and a clear goal in mind, we quickly solidified a plan to revive LPEVSD’s communication efforts through our partnership and relaunch of the district’s Facebook page.
Solution
Together, the school district and our team worked to identify existing communication platforms, outline the communication priorities and establish a comprehensive plan to consistently communicate messages across the platforms. Included in that plan was regularly posting on the district’s Facebook page. Since sporadic and inconsistent posting was previously the norm, the new plan included creating a post-per-day frequency to yield instant growth in both followers and engagement.
The new social sharing schedule reinforced LPEVSD’s communication priorities, including its safety and security efforts, fiscal stewardship, celebrating good news and sharing key information, which is the ultimate purpose of the Strategic Communication Model.

Impact
Through the implementation of the Impact Group’s Strategic Communication Model, LPEVSD has established a frequent and consistent social media presence, which has increased its engagement rate by over 580% and expanded reach by 161% during a six-month period on Facebook.
The Loudonville-Perrysville Exempted Village School District and its administration made a commitment to communication. Through their diligent efforts and with our guidance, the impact has expanded to their broader community and built trust beyond the parents of students.
Our Model is designed to help.
At The Impact Group, we understand the unique challenges faced by school districts. In an age where information is shared through various channels and at an unprecedented speed, it can be overwhelming to manage communication effectively.
Our model is designed to help school districts like LPEVSD develop and implement a robust communication plan that aligns with their goals and resonates with their audiences.
The challenges faced by the school districts we work with are not insurmountable. In fact, many types of organizations beyond schools grapple with similar issues. Fortunately, our strategic approach to communication transforms these challenges into opportunities for growth and engagement.
