Overview

We began our work with Miamisburg City School District by learning about its mission, vision, strategic plan, core values, existing brand, and most important needs. Our team spent extensive time understanding the platforms and ways in which the district communicates with its stakeholders while further developing what information was desired and needed to achieve the communication goals of the district.

Through our strategic partnership, The Impact Group and Miamisburg City Schools came together with a comprehensive communication plan to articulate the district’s priorities across a variety of platforms.

Challenge

Miamisburg City School District, like most districts, has incredible things happening in its buildings every day – from forming innovative partnerships that provide resources at a lower cost to the district and, therefore, taxpayers to the exciting accomplishments of its students and staff. However, with limited time and resources, the district felt like its stakeholders needed more information to understand the decisions and actions of the district.

MCS had its goals and sights set high for the 2022-2023 school year when we partnered to implement the Strategic Communications Model.

Solution

With priorities focusing on promoting the district and fiscal responsibility, The Impact Group developed a comprehensive communication plan utilizing the platforms the district was already using (print, website, email, social media, mobile app, in-person meetings, etc.) and additional platform recommendations, like a digital newsletter. This plan ensured that each component of the priorities was being shared across multiple platforms over the determined time frame.

From tactics like weekly social media posts from the Treasurer’s Office to the intentional sharing of monthly website articles on feature topics, the plan and resulting task lists helped keep the communication team on track and helped bring these priorities to the forefront during every communications discussion.

Impact

Through the implementation of the Strategic Communication Model, MCS has been able to establish a frequent and consistent social media presence, provide intention behind regular email newsletters, and stay accountable for their desired priorities and outcomes.

Their stakeholders, from community to staff, have responded positively, reflecting on the district’s commitment to communication and the differences felt over the last year.

Miamisburg City Schools and its administration made a commitment to communication and have continued to improve their approach and expand with a strategic and comprehensive plan for school communication.

Our Model is designed to help.

We understand the unique challenges faced by school districts. In an age where information is disseminated through various channels and at an unprecedented speed, it can be overwhelming to manage and streamline communication effectively.

Our model is designed to help districts like Miamisburg City Schools develop and implement a robust communication plan that aligns with their goals and resonates with their audiences.

While every district has its own culture, the challenges faced by Miamisburg City Schools are not unique. Many organizations grapple with similar issues. But, with The Impact Group’s strategic approach to communication, these challenges can be transformed into opportunities for connection and engagement with the community they serve.

“I am grateful for the partnership we’ve experienced with The Impact Group.
