“We were grateful to have The Impact Group join us at our Back-to-School Staff Convocation at Fairview Park City Schools. Creating a culture of appreciation was the perfect way to inspire us as we began a new school year. Our elementary staff was so energized that they are now interested in hosting a book study of Appreciology to dive deeper into the work. We’re excited about the opportunity to continue learning about developing our ‘superpower’ and truly appreciate the impact The Impact Group made on our team.”

The Roots of Cultural Transformation

Appreciology is about investing deeply and intentionally in the roots: Gratitude, Connection, Clarity, and Intentionality.

When these roots take hold, when you live them, practice them, and embody them daily, your leadership, relationships, and influence can grow in ways that seem sudden to the outside world, but are actually the result of deep, deliberate inner work.

Gratitude is the act of recognizing or appreciating the good in our lives, whether it comes from people, circumstances, or experiences.

This root is supported by:

1.1 Abundance: Viewing life’s resources as plentiful rather than scarce.
1.2 Awareness: Being fully present and engaged in the moment.
1.3 Recognition: Acknowledging the contributions and value of others openly and frequently.

Connection relates to the bonds we form with others, which are essential for our social empathy and psychological health.

This root is supported by:

2.1 Relationships: Building and maintaining healthy, supportive, and meaningful connections with other people.
2.2 Belonging: Creating environments where individuals can feel part of and valued within a group.
2.3 Empathy: Cultivating an understanding and sharing the feelings and experiences of others to foster a deeper sense of community and mutual support.

Clarity involves clear communication and setting specific expectations, which bring calm and understanding to interactions.

This root is supported by:

3.1 Communication: Ensuring messages are understood and misconceptions are minimized.
3.2 Expectations: Setting clear, achievable standards for behavior and performance.
3.3 Calm: Maintaining peace and logical thinking even in challenging situations.

Intentionality means acting with purpose and mindfulness, ensuring meaningful interactions and thoughtful responses.

This root is supported by:

4.1 Attention: Directing focus toward priorities and maintaining awareness of the needs of others.
4.2 Discipline: The ability to overcome any challenge or adversity in the pursuit of a defined objective.
4.3 Grace: Approaching situations with compassion and understanding, even when challenges arise.
