Overview

The City of Twinsburg embarked on a significant and much-anticipated update to its Zoning and Development Regulations. Although numerous revisions and additions have been made to the Zoning Code since its establishment in 1989, these updates lacked a cohesive, modern framework that would facilitate understanding and application for residents and stakeholders.

The Impact Group partnered with Twinsburg to develop a thorough Education and Awareness communication plan for this critical update, leveraging our extensive experience in collaborating with cities and municipalities. Together, our goal was to clearly communicate the significance of the upcoming zoning code ballot issue to community members.

Challenge

Twinsburg needed an effective way to inform residents and community stakeholders about the November 2024 ballot issue, which aimed to modernize and streamline the City’s zoning regulations. For this initiative, The Impact Group was tasked with creating targeted messaging that would resonate with the community, ensuring they were well-informed and empowered to make an informed decision at the polls. Our objective was to foster public engagement, raise awareness about the necessity of the zoning code updates, and guide stakeholders in participating actively in the process.

Solution

To address this challenge, The Impact Group developed a comprehensive Education and Awareness campaign tailored to Twinsburg’s goals. The initiative focused on providing clear, accessible information about the ballot issue, emphasizing the importance of zoning code updates. The communication plan included strategies to enhance public understanding of the need for revamping and simplifying the zoning code, aligning with the City’s desire for meaningful engagement with its residents and stakeholders.
